Vision Sound & Light become Promethean AV Business Partner

Vision Sound and Light (VSL) today announced a partnership with one of the countries leading Interactive Technology brands – Promethean Technologies Group Ltd.

Promethean Technologies Group has a wide range of interactive technologies used widely in Education and in Tayside, used and preferred by Dundee City Council and Angus Council for use in schools.

More and more teachers are finding that Promethean’s ACTIVboard dramatically improves collaborative classroom learning, better engaging pupil interest, attention, enquiry and interaction.  The ACTIVboard provides instant access to web-based illustration and information, while the company’s ACTIVote wireless hand-held device enables students to respond to questions, with answers being displayed on the board – a valuable method of encouraging discussion and also for identifying pupils’ depth of understanding.

“As we work extensively with Dundee and Angus Council’s education departments, it was critical for VSL, that we achieved partner status with Promethean for their range of technologies. Dundee Council are a centre of excellence for Promethean with full training facilities for teachers and to complete the circle locally, VSL can now support fully the supply and installation of Promethean Technologies.” Said VSL Managing Director, Gary Langlands.

For the third year in succession, Promethean Technologies Group has been included in the Tech Track 100 league table, published by The Sunday Times. Promethean is listed at number five of the Tech Track 100 firms with the largest sales, at £69.4 million for 2004, and ranked in the league at 63 overall. Promethean’s sales have increased by 61% a year, rising from £26.7 million in 2002 to £69.4 million in 2004, boosted by rising order volumes in the UK and overseas, from countries such as the USA, Mexico France, Germany, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Brunei, Thailand, Australia and Canada.
